FBR sends notices through IRIS and by post. Common ones ask for information, propose amendments to an assessment, or ask why a return wasn't filed.
Do this first
- Note the date you received it and the response deadline.
- Check which section and tax year it refers to (for example s.114, s.122, s.176 or s.177).
- Collect your return, wealth statement and bank statements for that year.
- Send us a copy before replying.
Don't
- Don't miss the deadline. An ex parte order can follow, with demand and penalties.
- Don't send documents that weren't asked for; reply to what the notice actually requires.
If your bank account has already been attached, contact us the same day so we can apply for relief.
A consultant will look at your case and give you a fixed fee before any work starts.
General information, not advice for your specific case. Rates and dates can change; check the current law or ask us before acting.
